The Healing Tip of Navel Piercing
For most people, the healing time is no more than 6 months, however everyone is different, for some it takes up to a year, it all depends on your body, for example if you have a good diet with plenty of vitamins and have a good immune system, you are more likely to heal faster.
You must not stop cleaning until you have totally healed. If you stop cleaning it early, you have a chance of it getting badly infected which could result in you having to have the piercing removed completely, which would be a waste of time and money. So make sure you are cleaning it twice a day until you are sure it has healed.
If you want to see your piercing, then it's fine, however remember not to touch it too much. Instead get a mirror and look at it with those. The more you poke and touch it, the more likely it is that your body rejects it.
You can show other people, however make sure none of them touch it either. Because other people carry germs too.
After showering or bathing, it is likely that your piercing will become soggy, this is okay, just do not touch it, this cannot be stressed enough, you must not touch it for a while.
There is only so much water you can dry out with a tissue or (very) clean towel. After you gently dab it dry, use your hair dryer to dry your piercing. Use the cool setting so your piercing does not heat up and burn your skin. Follow by dabbing a bit of ointment (like Mentholatum) with a Q-Tip.
